Heat Loss Survey West Wickham
A heat loss survey shows exactly how much heat your property gives up on a cold day, room by room. Without those figures, any heat pump quote you receive is little more than an educated guess.
We are MCS certified heat pump designers and installers based nearby in Bromley, covering West Wickham and the wider South East. Every system we design starts with a proper survey of the building.
What a Heat Loss Survey Involves
One of our engineers visits your home and measures each room, recording wall, floor and roof construction along with the insulation already in place. We also note how the property is heated at the moment.
Those measurements feed a room by room calculation that shows the heat output your home genuinely needs. That figure sets the size of the heat pump, the flow temperature and whether your existing radiators are up to the job.
What We Assess During the Survey
Housing in West Wickham varies widely, from period terraces and post war semis through to larger detached homes and recent extensions. Each one behaves differently once the temperature drops.
Here is what our engineer looks at while on site:
- Room dimensions, ceiling heights and window sizes
- Wall, floor and roof construction, plus current insulation levels
- Draughts, ventilation and any obvious weak points in the building fabric
- Existing radiator sizes, pipework and underfloor heating where fitted
- Hot water demand and the outdoor space available for the heat pump unit
We then set the findings out clearly for you, so you can see where your property stands before making any decisions.
Why Choose Air To Heat in West Wickham
Our team brings over 60 years of combined experience in renewable heating, and air source heat pumps are the sole focus of our business. That focus is what keeps our designs accurate and our systems running efficiently.
A survey carried out to MCS standards also protects your eligibility for the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant. As MCS registered installers, we submit the application to Ofgem on your behalf once the design is agreed.
