Heat Loss Survey Beckenham
Every heat pump we design starts with an accurate picture of how much heat a property actually loses. Our heat loss surveys in Beckenham give you that figure, room by room, before any decision is made about equipment or cost.
We are an MCS certified installer based close by in Bromley, so a site visit is quick to arrange. You get clear numbers, straight answers and a system design built around the property you own.
Why a Heat Loss Survey Matters Before Installation
An air source heat pump delivers heat at lower flow temperatures than a gas or oil boiler, so the system has to be sized against the real demand of the building. Guesswork at this stage leads to a unit that either struggles in cold weather or runs inefficiently for years.
The survey also tells us whether your existing radiators and pipework can carry the load, or where underfloor heating would be the better option. It is the same calculation that supports MCS standards and your Boiler Upgrade Scheme application.
What Our Heat Loss Survey Covers
Our engineers visit the property and work through it in detail, measuring rather than assuming. Each survey is carried out room by room and looks at the following:
- Room dimensions, ceiling heights and internal layout
- Wall, roof and floor construction, along with insulation levels
- Windows, doors and general air tightness
- Existing radiators, pipework and hot water cylinder
- Outdoor space and positioning options for the heat pump unit
- Electrical supply and the controls already in place
We then produce heat loss figures for each room and for the property as a whole, followed by a system design and an output rating that matches them.
Local Knowledge Across Beckenham
Beckenham has a mix of Victorian and Edwardian terraces, post war semis and newer flats, and each behaves differently once you start measuring. We have surveyed properties across South East London and know where heat tends to escape in these building types.
We work with homeowners as well as builders, architects and developers on extensions, renovations and new build projects. There is no charge for our design work, and we simply ask that it is shared with your contractors and added to the drawing packs.
