Air Source Heat Pump Install – Bromley
CASE STUDY
Case Study - Bromley
Unusual Aspect – The ASHP installation was part of a wider home renovation; this allowed integration with new underfloor heating and gave opportunities to optimise pipework routes and controls. The property’s low heat loss of 8kW across the floor area demonstrated strong fabric performance, making it suitable for eat pump technology. The installation further included a 300L quick recovery hot water cylinder and a full MCS assessment to ensure compliance.
Challenges:
- One of the key challenges on this project was designing heating system capable of serving both newly installed underfloor heating and existing radiators.
- Positioning the heat pump unit on the side elevation required careful consideration of pipework routes, maintain access, airflow requirements and noise compliance.
- Because the heat pump was installed externally and connected to a lant room inside the property, insulated flow and return pipework had to be routed between the two locations, ensuring minimal heat loss and a neat finish was an important art of the installation.
